Finally a product that provides the safety of a thimble without all the extra, unnecessary parts. Don't be intimidated by the requirement to splice this thimble onto your winch line; all you really need is a bit of electrical tape and a marker (though a fid makes it even easier). I was working with 3/8" line and used the 3/8 Fid from Samson. To see how a splice is actually done, google the "long bury" or "brummel" splice. Trust me, you can do this.

Factor 55 splicer works perfectly. Must be spliced professionally with a splicing FID specifically sized for your synthetic line. Tying the line in a knot is a No Go in this lane. Do NOT tie the line.
